The ABA Boat Insurance Program includes ensuing loss caused by consequential sinking, burning or collision. Most boat insurance policies include the wording “losses resulting from”. So if the boat sinks due to an excluded item (wear and tear or deterioration), the entire loss is excluded. With ensuing loss, even if wear and tear or deterioration is excluded, the consequential loss from sinking, burning or collision is covered.
